The Man Behind The History
Bill Perryman, M.Ed.
An award-winning teacher, recognized as a “Friend of Social Studies Education” in 2008 by the Texas Council of Social Studies (TCSS). Mr. Perryman holds a master’s degree in elementary education from Texas State University, administrator/mid-management certification from The University of Texas at San Antonio and has completed six hours of graduate studies in historical research through the University of Virginia. He has taught and supervised students at the elementary, middle and university levels.
Mr. Perryman is known throughout Texas for his historical portrayals of pivotal people in American history and for his teacher trainings, seminars and entertaining professional tours of San Antonio. He is the founder of History In Person Theater which has served as an official touring arts program with the Texas Commission on the Arts.
Along with John Seidlitz, Mr. Perryman is the co-author of Navigating the ELPS (English language Proficiency Standards) in the Social Studies Classroom and Seven Steps to a Language-Rich Interactive Classroom - Research based Strategies for Engaging All Students.
He is co-author, with Marguerite Hartill, of the newly published intermediate level children's book - From Lanterns to Liberty - The story of Midnight Rider Paul Revere.
A fifth generation Texan, Perryman was raised near the small town of Luling.
